Velocity in agile is a simple calculation of number of hours spent to complete a given work. This can be measured in engineer hours, story points and is generally tracked in a tool like jira.
Ex: In a sprint, if there are 3 user stories and each story equals to 4 story points and your team has completed only 1 user story, then the total story points will be equal to 4 story points.
In the same way lets consider another 2 sprints where story points are 10 and 6 respectively.
Here, the average sprint velocity will be (4+10+6)/3 =  6.5

Velocity of Agile will be determined basing on the user stories done during the sprint meetings and the average work done during 2 to 3 sprints will be considered.

What are the different types of scrum meetings?
The sprint planning meeting is held before the sprint begins, to define what will be delivered in the sprint.
The Scrum Daily Standup Meeting is held daily. This meeting is short, fifteen minutes or less. And each member of the team tells the rest of the team what they did since the last Scrum meeting, what they will do before the next Scrum meeting, and what is blocking them.
The Sprint Retrospective Meeting is held after the sprint, for the Scrum team to reflect and review on the last sprint to determine what went right and wrong, and initiate process improvement.
The Backlog Grooming Meeting is often held during the sprint to allow the team to review the top priority items in the product backlog.
The Sprint Review Meeting is held at the end of each sprint and time-boxed to four hours. In the meeting, the work the team completed in the sprint is demonstrated as a product increment – potentially shippable working software.
The Scrum of Scrums is for information about the team as a whole, not individual members. The members work on identified issues.

Velocity in Agile is a simple calculation measuring units of work completed in a given timeframe. ... Once this is measured based on a few sprints, the team can then predict how many user points they should plan to complete per sprint.

It can be used to track the status of a project.

It can be used to track volatility, which is a measure of predictability. If you are finding hills and valleys in your chart, the project is an unpredictable one. That can be for several reasons, including the size and difficulty of the project and team changes.

A velocity chart will also help you identify patterns in your team's velocity ? including on projects where there may not be story points, but instead, the team is working out bugs

velocity is the unit of measurement of the amount of work a team tackles at any given time. it is usually measured in terms of hours, story points or user stories and is measured at the end of the sprints.

Explain Velocity in Agile?

It is a simple calculation for measuring the work done in the given hours.
It is measured in user stories, user points.
For example, to track Agile velocity, most Scrum teams measure the number of user points in a given sprint. Once this is measured based on a few sprints, the team can then predict how many user points they should plan to complete per sprint.

In agile Velocity help you to understand how long it will take your team to finish the whole backlog. In general, it takes few sprint to get to know the team velocity. I average the amount of user story completed by your team in for e.g past three sprint take the average of it is your team velocity.
