Flowcharts are one of the effective ways of depicting the flow of set of activities or process. Flowcharts can be done as an initial draft to understand the flow of the business activities. BPMN rules can be also be applied to refine the flowchart with appropriate required practices.

There are certain BPMN elements in use like Events, Activities, Connectors, Swimlanes, Gateways, Blackbox & Whietbox pools, etc.

BPMN 2.0 (Business Process Modelling Notation) is the latest version that is in use.

When designing and planning a process, flowcharts can help to identify its essential steps and simultaneously offer the bigger picture of the process. It organises the tasks in chronological order and identify them by type, e.g. process, decision, data.

  Advantages of flow chart are

1.    Improved Communication. Flowchart software empowers entire teams to collaborate as they create, edit, and analyse flowcharts.
2.    Visual Clarity.
3.    Effective Analysis.
4.    Problem Solving.
5.    Documentation

Flow chart is a diagrammatic representation of a workflow or the process. It gives clear view from where the process is started and where it is ended. It also gives the clear understanding of the process in sequential way i.e. one step after the another. If the flow chart is effective then the process would be become simple to execute in real case scenario. It is widely used in manufacture, administration and the projects.

A flowchart is a graphical illustration of a process that allows its designers to see the inner workings and influences that can have a negative or positive effect on how the system works. Observing the illustration of the process enables you to immediately identify those areas in the mechanism that are functional, versus nonfunctional.

Flowchart is an important tool in the sense that it effectively communicates different steps involved in a process in a sequential way or manner.
It can be used to understand the development and improvement process.
Flowcharts are also called as process flowchart or functional flowchart or business process mapping.
Flowcharts are useful in different fields such as in Academics ( e.g., to understand a scientific process), in Marketing (e.g., to draw strategic plan for sales), in Business (e.g., to develop a business plan), in Manufacturing (e.g., to illustrate manufacturing process or Standard Operating Procedure-SOP), in Engineering (e.g., to represent system flow)

Flow charts are important because

1.) It gives clear picture of process through pictorial representation.
2.) It illustrates the process one by one in sequential way.
3.) It helps to analyze and improve the process.
4.) It helps in easy communication wth clients/stakeholders.
5.) It helps in reducing the time to learn about process.

Flow chart name it self indicates which is a flow of process and it will helps in clear understanding because it is always pictorial representation.. Flow chart helps designers to develop stage wise and according priority.. Flow chart always very understandable with less complexity.

Readability is probably the most important aspect of a flowchart. As the diagrammatic representation of a process, the flowchart aims to offer a visual description of a process to help us understand what is going on. However flowcharts can get a bit out of control and you can end up with something so complicated that it defeats the purpose of having one.

One of the major advantages of flowcharts is the ability to graphically represent business process models to analyze, improve and automate current processes. Flowcharts can help an individual to draw the process model in such a manner that it shows every step of a process in a clear and explicit manner.

Flow charts are an important tool for the improvement of processes. By providing a graphical representation, they help project teams to identify the different elements of a process and understand the interrelationships among the various steps.

The following are the benefits that flowchart can effect:
1. Visual Clarity.
2. Instant Communication.
3. Effective Coordination.
4. Efficiency Increase.
5. Effective Analysis.
6. Problem-Solving.
7. Proper Documentation.

Flowcharts is a diagrammatic representation with outlining the separate steps of a process in sequential order using with symbols. And it is diagrammatic representation of the solution to be given problem. When designing and planning a process, flowcharts can help you identify its essential steps of the flow.

Readability is probably the most important aspect of a flowchart.
